Workshop on the Flipped Classroom

We are very pleased to announce a workshop for all staff, on the techniques that are essential for a creative and successful Flipped Clasroom.  This event will be held in Parliament Hall on the 8th July 2019, hosted by Prof. Paul Hibbert and led by Prof. April Wright & Dr. Stuart Middleton.

Lunch will be provided at 12:30 and the event will be ending at 4:30.

Learning and Teaching Conference: Innovative Assessment in Higher Education

Event Details

This Conference on Innovative Assessment in Higher Education is a joint event organised by the International Education Institute (IEI) St Andrews and the St Andrews Learning and Teaching Initiative (SALTi).

Date for the Diary: Wednesday 23rd October 2019 9am- 5pm

Plenary speakers are Professor Carol Evans, University of Birmingham, and Dr Mark Carver, University of St Andrews.

The event will be open to academics, teachers and postgraduate students. This will be the first IEI SALTi symposium, but our ambition is to turn it into an annual learning and teaching conference.

The conference theme addresses innovate practices of assessment in Higher Education. The organisers are looking for presentations which relate to:

– Innovative assessment methods
– Giving feedback
– Transdisciplinary assessment
– Technological/digital methods of assessment
– Student-created assessment

IEI SALTi are also looking for poster presentations on learning and teaching practice in Higher Education (in general).

If you have something you would like to share, please email Blair Matthews at bm221@st-andrews.ac.uk with your proposal (max 250 words). Deadline for proposals is Wednesday 24 July 2019.
